Just after the crisis of 1998
when Suharto fell,
we went to Sulawesi for an overland tour.
2500 kilometres from Makassar to Menado
in 21 days.
Daily 12 hours in the car.
One of the nicest places we visited
and with the friendliest people
was Tentena, north of Lake Poso.
A year later it nearly didn’t exist anymore:
more then half of the population was murdered
in the religious war.... |
